Steven Adler biography:

American musician,Steven Adler has an estimated net worth of $15 million. Original Guns N’ Roses drummer, Steven Adler, has the dubious distinction of being the very first member of the group to have been fired by vocalist/leader Axl Rose (touching off a trend that will continue until Rose was the only remaining original member left in attendance from the late ’90s). Created January 22, 1965, in Cleveland, OH, Adler was entirely self-educated in the instrument, inspired by such ’70s hard rockers as Kiss and Aerosmith. After relocating to the la region, Adler befriended a fellow musician, Saul Hudson, who’d finally adopt the nickname Slash — as the duet formed a musical bond and played together in an ensemble called Road Crew (named after a Motrhead tune). By the mid-’80s, Roadcrew had split up, while Adler and Slash had joined forces with other members of the Sunset Strip metal/glam/punk landscape — Rose, bassist Duff McKagan, and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, to form Guns N’ Roses.

In 1990, Adler was fired from the group (replaced by former Cult drummer Matt Sorum), and slid even deeper into drug abuse, leading to such health issues as a heart attack and also a set of strokes. Adler has made several efforts at re-entering the rock world since his exit from G N’ R, with such hidden kits as Freaks in the Room along with a brand new model of Road Crew, as well as a brief spell as the drummer for ’80s Van Halen-disciples the Bulletboys. Adler’s biggest marketing through the ’90s was not musically based, however — as he successfully sued G N’ R for “wrongful termination,” as well as doing jail time for attacking two girls (in different cases). By the early 21st century, Adler was allegedly at work on a book detailing his tenure with Guns N’ Roses (with a working title of No Bed of Roses), playing shows with distinct L.A. bands, and trying to get the ball rolling for a reunion of the first Guns lineup.
Steven Adler (born Michael Coletti; January 22, 1965) is an American musician. He’s best known as the former drummer and co-songwriter of the hard rock group Guns N’ Roses, with whom he achieved global success in the late 1980s. During the 2000s, Adler was the drummer of the group Adler’s Appetite, and since 2012, he has held exactly the same position in the band Adler. He appeared on the 2nd and fifth seasons of the reality TV show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”, as well as on the first season of its spin off “Sober House”.

In June 1985, Adler joined Guns N’ Roses, that was recently founded by Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, and many members of L.A. Guns. His former Road Crew band mates Slash and Duff McKagan completed the line up. They played cabarets—such as the Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, and The Troubadour—and opened for larger acts throughout 1985 and 1986. After being scouted by several major record labels, the group signed with Geffen Records in March 1986. In July 1987, Guns N’ Roses released its debut album, Appetite for Destruction, which to date has sold over 28 million copies worldwide, 18 million of which in the U.S., making it the best-selling debut album of all time in america. In December, within a tour with Alice Cooper, an intoxicated Adler broke his hand when he punched a streetlight following a barroom brawl; Fred Coury of Cinderella was brought in as his substitute for a number of shows until he recovered. Adler was again absent within a performance at the American Music Awards in January 1989; Don Henley filled in for him on drums. His lack was originally attributed to a case of the flu, but it was later shown that Adler had experienced a drug rehabilitation plan at that time. The following October, throughout a show as opening act for the Rolling Stones, Axl Rose threatened to leave the band if particular members of the group didn’t cease “dancing with Mr. Brownstone,” a reference to their tune of the same name about heroin use. Adler was among people who promised to clean up, but he continued to fight with his addiction.
